Keith Sandulak is a 47-year-old artist who lives on a farm just outside Edmonton Alberta.
Keith has been sculpting and drawing since high school. Over the years he has perfected his art and casting process. He uses sculpey, a product which allows him to get fine details. Sculpey does not dry out as quickly as clay and can be baked in a home oven.
Keith begins each piece with an idea and gathers photos and video pictures.
Once he creates a new piece he then makes a silicone rubber mould and produces several artists proofs to ensure that any imperfections have been spotted and corrected. Once the sculpture itself is ready the painting process begins. The final prototype becomes the master from which beautiful wood resin replica sculptures are of original are fashioned.
Once he is happy with the finished painted sculpture several copies are sent to the artisans that produce the samples. He works closely with them to ensure the quality and details of the original are reproduced accurately.
