Glennie McKirdy lives in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, southwest of Calgary. She is an experienced and gifted art teacher and has been leading workshops for adults and children for over twenty years. Working with gourds has become her passion and she creates a multitude of vessels, all individual and unique, using the medium of her choice to enhance each shape fittingly.
Gourds have graced this earth for thousands of years. Historically they were used before pottery as water containers, food vessels, seed storage and musical instruments. Modern day interest in gourds is bringing an array of creativity and uses.
