Summary
As a former chef from Switzerland, Alain knows the importance of good dishware. Having come to North America in 1979 he initially continued his career as a chef from Switzerland.
As a hobby, he attended the Red Deer pottery club and was instantly a fan of clay. After two night courses, a week at series at the college and two credit design courses in the same establishment, he set up his own studio in his garage, expanding into his current studio in 1997.
He has been teaching community courses with the city of Red Deer since 1992 volunteered in schools, visiting classes ranging from grade one to grade twelve and was president at the pottery club for a year, and president of the Alberta potter's association from 1998 to 2000.
