Ceramics Pottery

Summary

Born in Brantford, Ontario, Paula lived in several Southern Ontario cities, before moving to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1989. It was soon after her move to the prairies that she took her first pottery class with the Saskatoon potters guild. Although she claims that she struggled through her first set of classes trying to learn how to centre the clay on the potters wheel, she was seduced by the immediacy of clay and its endless possibilities. After several years of recreational lessons she decided to study ceramics at the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology, in Prince Albert, SK., And in 1999 graduated with a diploma in ceramics. Later that same year she began her full-time career in clay. Paula has had two solo exhibitions of her work and has participated in numerous group exhibitions, ranging from local to national. She has pieces in the permanent collections of the Saskatchewan Arts Board, the town of Battleford, and Siast, woodland campus.
