Summary
Scott Charteris was born in Ontario in 1968 but grew up in South Africa. While living in Africa he attended the Johann Carinus art school in Grahamstown and set about sculpting, drawing and photographing wildlife throughout the continent. An avid traveller and outdoorsman, he has now encountered wild animals in almost every corner of the world.
Scott returned to Canada in 1992 and married his love of sculpture and of wildlife by creating northpaw designs Canada. He now hikes mountains and forests throughout British Columbia searching for the paw prints left behind by some of Canada's most elusive wildlife.
Scott scoffs at the notion that he is creating beautiful works of art. He claims "i don't really make anything at all - all i do is find things that are already beautiful and present them to people, and give them a chance to own them."
Kodi, short for Kodiak, is the other member of Scotts staff. He is a working dog with a keen nose and an adventurous spirit. He plays a key role in finding paw prints in the Canadian wilderness, as well as providing security for the company.
