Summary
Marvin started carving in 1981. His relatives from Vancouver have been carving for generations. Learning the craft is a gift that he appreciated and has passed on to others that enjoy his work. He feels honoured to be part of this tradition.
Totems or motifs represent spiritual inner strength. They are guides to paths and concepts that illustrate the interconnections of all living beings.
Some of Marvins artwork has found a home in Sweden, Australia, England and Africa. He has received letters of gratitude from personal collectors telling how they have enriched their private collections of art. People request carvings that are influenced by their own personal visions. He has done logos and designs unique to each individual. I have been asked to carve special designs for weddings, hockey teams and others which reflect personal tastes.
